Black Friday 2026: the date, and how to spot a real deal in London

The curve of Regent Street, London

Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November. Many shops start their offers a week earlier, around 20 or 21 November.

Are Black Friday deals really cheaper?

Sometimes. Price comparison site PriceSpy says discounted items are cut by about 20 to 25% on average, but not everything is on offer, and some products cost more on the day than in the weeks before. Some shops also raise prices ahead of the sales so the discount looks bigger.

How to spot a real deal

  • Check the price history of what you want now, before the sales start
  • Set a price alert on a comparison site rather than checking every day
  • Compare a few shops, not just the one shouting loudest
  • Make a list in advance, so you’re buying what you need, not what’s discounted

Shopping in person in London

Oxford Street and Regent Street are at their busiest on Black Friday weekend. Going on a weekday morning is calmer. Regent Street’s Christmas lights will already be on, and the new Harry Potter shop will be open on Oxford Street by then.

For gifts from independent makers, the Spirit of Christmas Fair and London’s Christmas markets are good alternatives.
