What time is the Budget?

The Chancellor normally stands up in the Commons straight after Prime Minister’s Questions, which starts at noon on Wednesdays. So expect the speech from around 12.30pm. It usually lasts about an hour.

How to watch

  • Live on Parliament TV and the BBC Parliament channel
  • On the main news channels and their websites
  • The full Budget documents are published on GOV.UK once the speech ends

What has the Chancellor said so far?

Healey has said the Budget will move money and decision-making out of Westminster and into local communities, and that it will be built on fiscal discipline and meet the government’s fiscal rules. The detail of tax and spending changes will only be known on the day.
