Editorial Standards and Corrections
Last updated: 9 October 2026
Trust is the whole point of London Lately. This page explains how we decide what to publish, how we check it, and what we do when we get something wrong.
What we cover
New openings, events, building projects, deals and the money stories that affect Londoners, across every borough. We leave out crime and outrage stories unless they have a practical impact readers need to know about, such as a major transport closure.
How we check facts
- Every key fact, such as a date, price, address or figure, is checked against at least two sources.
- Where possible, at least one source is primary: the business or organiser itself, a council, the Greater London Authority, the Bank of England, the Office for National Statistics or another official body.
- When sources disagree, we say so in the article rather than picking one.
- We link to our sources at the end of every article, and show the date details were last checked.
Writing and tools
We write our articles ourselves and never copy other publications’ wording. We use digital tools, including AI tools, to help with research and drafting. Every article is checked against its sources before it is published.
Independence
Nobody pays to appear in our articles. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, they will be clearly labelled as advertising, in line with the UK Advertising Standards Authority’s rules.
Images
We use photos we have the right to use: our own, licensed stock images, or official press images supplied by organisers. Each one is credited, and our image credits page lists them.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and openly. Significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date. Small changes, such as typos or updated opening times, are made without a note.
To report an error, use our contact form with the article link and what needs fixing. We aim to review every request within two working days.
