Frieze London and Frieze Masters run 14 to 18 October. Frieze Sculpture is free and open until 1 November.
Frieze week is back in Regent’s Park. Frieze London and Frieze Masters, the two big ticketed art fairs, run from Wednesday 14 to Sunday 18 October. Next to them, and free, is Frieze Sculpture, which you can walk through any day until 1 November.
Frieze London and Frieze Masters: 14 to 18 October
Frieze London shows contemporary art from galleries around the world. Frieze Masters, a short walk away in the same park, covers older art, from antiquity to the 20th century. Both need a paid ticket, and prices and time slots are on the Frieze website. Weekday afternoons are usually less crowded than the weekend.
Frieze Sculpture: free until 1 November
Eleven large outdoor sculptures are placed around the south-eastern corner of Regent’s Park, mostly near the Broad Walk. There is no ticket and no queue. A map is on the Frieze website, and a full loop takes well under an hour.
Making a day of it
- Regent’s Park and Great Portland Street are the closest stations to the south-east corner.
- The Broad Walk leads north towards Primrose Hill if you want a view over London afterwards.
- October weather changes fast. The sculptures are outside, so bring a layer.
